Franceville is one of Indiana’s best-kept secrets! This rural, close-knit community is nestled in Salem Township on the west side of Pulaski County on HWY 421, approximately 40 miles north of Lafayette and 40 miles south of Interstate 80/90.
The town of Franceville was laid out by James Brooks, president of the Louisville, New Albany, and Chicago Railroad in 1853. It was named in honor of his daughter, Frances. (To continue reading about Francesville and its history, click HERE.)

To the followers of the Francesville Fall Festival. The 3rd weekend in September is most likely a much-anticipated time, marking the end of summer, return to school, work, and those activities that fill our lives. The Francesville Fall Festival is a part of this season. This year’s festival was once again a time to enjoy food, renewing friendships and taking part in community spirit. We give thanks for the safety we enjoyed. One downside this year was the nearly empty carnival ride lot. The Festival committee had a contract for at least 6 rides as well as carnival games for various ages groups. Even though there were 3 rides for differing age groups, and we believe the price was reasonable, we apologize for disappointing so many children. The ride company had an issue with transporting the rides while enroute to Francesville that could not be immediately solved. All reasonable action will be taken to provide reliable rides for future festivals. We ask for your patience as this is being worked through. We thank all who helped setup, tear down and put away equipment and supplies for next year. Thanks and appreciation also go out to all of the event leaders. It takes many hands to host such an event for our community. - Ron Schlatter Visit www.francesvillefallfestival.com for more information. Montgomery Cafe![]() Have you visited the Montgomery Cafe?
