The West Central School Corporation offers a comprehensive K-12 education to students and families with an emphasis on hard work and traditional values. The West Central Schools consist of West Central Elementary and West Central Middle/ High School. All schools, as well as the West Central Administration Office, are located 3 miles north of Francesville on the corner of US 421 and State Road 14.
WCSC, incorporated in the 1960's, is a consolidation of Francesville , Medaryville and Gilliam Township schools. The West Central School Corporation as of the 2020-2021 school year has a K-12 enrollment of 668 students and covers approximately 198 square miles.
The district has the typical offerings of math, language arts, science, social studies, and health. But we continue to offer music, art, physical education, library, computer, and other non-core classes to ensure our students receive a well-rounded education.
At the high school level is offered certifications in welding, health occupations, and business, as well as many other electives in career-related fields. West Central High School is an Indiana Four Star School as designated by the Indiana Department of Education.
The extra-curricular offerings include football, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, track and field, cross country, wrestling, cheerleading, golf, Future Farmers of America, Business Professionals of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Student Counsel, Drama, and many more.

A recognizable icon of the West Central Schools is the wind turbine located on the northeast corner of the campus. Towering 325 feet into the sky, the wind turbine was erected in 2014 and at full capacity generates 900 kW per hour which is delivered to each building and reduces electricity costs through a program called "net-metering."
