TRASH COLLECTION
The Town has contracted for curbside solid waste collection and disposal service for all single-family, businesses & apartments. Each residency should only have one 90-gallon container for trash. The container must be placed curbside every Thursday for pickup. If a holiday falls during that week then pickup is the next day. If a resident or business want to have more than one trash container, they must pay an additional charge through Republic Services.
LIMB COLLECTION
The Town operates a twice a month pickup of limbs and brush that have been placed just off the edge of the pavement. Limbs shall be neatly piled parallel to the street and no longer than eight (8) feet in length. Brush must be piled separate from the limbs. Disposal of
contracted wood & brush from trees being topped or cut down WILL NOT be collected by the Town. After severe storms, limbs and brush pickup may be conducted more frequently.
YARD WASTE EXCLUDING LEAVES
Organic yard waste consisting of grass or thatch, flower bed waste, or garden waste may be disposed of as part of your curbside refuse. All yard waste needs to be piled on resident’s property close to the street. Residents are encouraged to mulch grass. This service stops on October 15th of each year.
LEAVES
Leaves must be raked into a pile near the pavement. The Town collects the leaves from approximately mid-October through November using a vacuum collector. Bag your leaves in paper bags only and DO NOT mix sticks or brush with other lawn waste or debris with your leaves. Leaf collection period is conducted by the Town in the spring at a time to be announced. DO NOT park by the pile of leaves so that it is easier for the vacuum to get in and clean up.
SNOW PLOWING
Whenever there is an accumulation of snow, sleet, hail, ice and/or freezing rain on the streets the roads will be addressed by the town employees.
GOLF CART
If you own a golf cart or side by side, it must be compliant to our town ordinance. In doing so, you must contact the Town Marshal and have it inspected. A yearly fee is required: Golf Cart $25.00 & Side by Side $50.00. A copy of the ordinance is in the Clerk-Treasurer’s office if needed and can also be found on this website under Town Government/Town Council/Ordinances.
