Opera Block Park
In 2022, the Opera Block Park was constructed with the help of a grant from the Community Foundation of Pulaski County allowing Uptown Project to transform a vacant downtown lot into a pocket park available to the community.
The Opera Block Park sits south of the historic Myers Opera Block of Francesville. Artist Zach Medler was commissioned to design a one-of-a-kind work of art highlighting many of the attractions this space was used for throughout the early-mid 1900's. Some of these include a state-of-the-art opera house, silent picture shows, a modern ball room, a roller-skating rink, and even Francesville High School Commencement Exercises. Prominently displayed in the mural is the slogan "Always A Good Show" which Opera Block owner William C. Myers often used to describe his different presentations.
